We didn't think there was a better blog to start out than the one that made us a team- Husky Builders and Lauren Jackson (of grits, grace, and granola)! Our friendship and partnership was inevitable after this one job.
The Batson Bath
Let us introduce you to the Batson bathroom! This 80s style en-suite bathroom was part of the master bedroom- with no privacy, a shotgun-style closet, which made Kristen have to crawl over all of Eric's things just to pick out her clothes, and don't get us started on the carpet- IN THE BATHROOM! (There was also, at one time, in the shower space as well. GROSSSSS!) This bathroom was overdue for an uplift, and I was delighted to help this family rework the space they had to make it more functional for them and feel more like the beautiful bathrooms they would see on their luxurious travels to Europe.
Here's a look at the scope of the work as we got started.
Their desire was to have his and hers closets, a soaking tub, a heated towel bar, a custom shower, and plenty of counter and storage space with tile floors.
Our crews were working hard, while we went shopping for the perfect soaking tub for Eric! I would definitely beg to say we had more fun!
They wanted a classic, timeless look and were sending me photos of inspiration to help them create the perfect white, black, gray and chrome template for their new spa retreat!
Wonder what the Batsons think about their new bathroom? Here it from them:
"Thankful for the total makeover of our bathroom. From 80's worn out to total spa. Thanks to Lauren Jackson for helping us design. JP Acosta with Husky Builders and Craig and Mike Alexander with Easley Glass for making us love our new en suite! (Yes, that is a heated towel rack and mirror with defogger and 3 light settings!)"
Shotgun-style to His and Hers
For their closet, we gave them their own separate spaces utilizing some wasted space in the master bedroom. We built out the walls and Carolina Closets come in with some custom shelving and gadgets. We gave them ample light and storage and made their space more usable and functional.
Here's a look at the before...
And here's the after...
So grateful to wrap up this first project as a team and get started on their brand new kitchen next month!
