Transforming Mustard to Elegance: A Stunning Before and After Bathroom Remodel

Are you tired of stepping back in time every time you enter your bathroom? This bathroom project with our Husky Builders Crew and interior design team is a perfect example of how a dated, mustard yellow bathroom from the 1970s can be completely transformed into a modern, elegant space.

Before: A Blast from the Past

The original bathroom was a time capsule from the 1970s, complete with a mustard yellow color scheme that extended from the toilet to the vintage wash sink. The hexagon floor tiles, block shower tiles, and striped floral wallpaper were all original features that screamed decades past. It was clear that a complete overhaul was needed to bring this bathroom into the 21st century.

The Transformation Begins

Husky Builders, with Lauren Alonso at the helm as the interior designer, took on the challenge of turning this outdated space into a modern oasis. The first order of business was to remove the mustard yellow fixtures and replace them with timeless classics.

After: Timeless Elegance

The transformation is nothing short of stunning. And ultimately, one of our all-time favorites. The classic white and black hexagon porcelain floor tiles set the stage for the entire space. A beautiful granite countertop adds a touch of luxury, creating a harmonious balance with the "Jade Dragon" green-painted vanity for a pop of color.

The shower area underwent a major facelift, removing the dropped ceiling and opening it up with a glass shower door and open ceiling, featuring a slate herringbone black shower base and subway-tiled walls. Matte black fixtures, including a dual thermostatic Delta rain head shower faucet and standard shower head, add a modern and cohesive touch to the overall design.

For the walls, a neutral canvas in "Sensible Hue" creates a serene backdrop, allowing the other design elements to shine. The addition of natural light from the window enhances the feeling of luxury in this small space.

One of the clever design choices made by our designer and the clients was the creation of a wall cubby from unused space in the closet in the garage behind the bathroom. This addition not only provides extra storage for linens but also adds a functional and aesthetic element to the space.

The Unexpected Star: Bob the Cat

In our reveal, we couldn't help but notice the unexpected star of the show – Bob the Cat, who we became friends with during the construction process. From counters to floors, Bob meticulously inspected every inch of the remodeled bathroom, perhaps giving his seal of approval to the transformation.

This before and after bathroom remodel by Husky Builders and Lauren Alonso proves that even the most dated spaces can be turned into timeless and elegant havens. If you're ready to bid farewell to mustard yellows and floral wallpapers, consider a remodel that not only brings your bathroom into the present but also adds a touch of luxury to your daily routine.
